David Brown Automotive is looking for a Stores Controller with a minimum of two years’ automotive supply chain experience in from a logistics/warehouse perspective. We are seeking candidates with excellent planning and organisational skills, with a meticulous eye for detail and great communication skills. You will be responsible for parts/logistics management within a niche vehicle build environment, reporting to the Stores Senior/Supply Chain Manager. The Stores Controller must have a flexible approach to tasks and responsibilities as the need arises within the supply chain team, as per the business’ requirements.
Role Responsibilities:
- To ensure all deliveries for the stores are received and booked in via company systems
- To ensure that the right goods are stored in the right places at the right time
- Knowledge of and experience adhering to health and safety procedures
- Checking deliveries against the delivery note, accurately recording damaged or missing items, and assisting the Supply Chain Manager to accurately inform suppliers of an errors.
- Arranging/packing supplier returns as directed by Stores Senior/Supply Chain Manager
- Accurately processing paperwork, including use of computerised systems
- Assist with stores-wide stock takes
- Keeping work areas and walkways clean, tidy and safe
- Attending staff meetings and relevant training courses as required by the business
- Keeping accurate records of inventory stocks and updating as necessary
- Kit building of parts for technicians as per the vehicle BOM
- Filing and delivering paperwork to the necessary departments
- Expediting the delivery of essential items on order under the direction of the purchasing team
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- Existing knowledge of stock control systems
- A knowledge of goods inwards parts quality within the automotive sector
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and ideally Epicor
- Solid experience in arranging transport of items/logistics
- Proven experience in dealing directly with suppliers as required under direction
Preferred Experience & Qualifications:
- Forklift operating licence
- Experience in expediting/purchasing/parts procurement
Additional Information:
- You must be eligible to live and work in the UK to apply for this position
- Full, clean UK/EU driving licence
